Macias
With over 17 years of experience in the tourism industry, Luis is a natural guide who can drive through many parts of Panama with ease.
Luis has developed a passion for gastronomy, culture, and history. In his leisure time, he loves nature hikes and spending time with his family.
What he loves about his job
Luis loves to share Panama with new visitors — especially when he can help visitors experience Panama’s wildlife and learn about nature firsthand.
His favourite topic is food and sharing recipes with guests!
Jose was born and raised in Panama. Jose pursued a biomedical engineering path but found his true passion in tourism.
His love for the history, local culture, and nature of Panama has led to over 15 years of tourism experience.
His hobbies include volunteering at a Non-Governmental Organization protecting the Cruces National Park, spending time with his wife and son, biomedical engineering, and playing soccer!
What he loves about his job?
Jose loves sharing his passion for Panama through its history and culture. He is always looking for the best way for guests to have an outstanding experience in Panama.
Octavio grew up in the highlands of Chiriquí, Panama, an area surrounded by wildlife and national parks — and this influenced Octavio’s fascination with ecology and bird watching.
He spent his elementary school years in Panama. Then in high school, he divided his time between California and Panama City.
While studying tourism in college, Octavio earned his first job for Scuba Panama and worked as a local guide at the Panama Canal Interoceanic Museum in 1999.
He is a member of the Panama Audubon Society and the founder of the Tourism Guide Association of Panama in 2008.
He has worked for many tour operators, hotels, cruise liners, and at the Panama Canal’s Visitor Centers. After 23 years of experience, with diverse courses including N.A.I. Certifications, he is now performing as Trip Leader, Historical and a Naturalist registered Guide all over the country.
What he loves about his job?
Octavio’s passion and experience in tourism helps him share the beauties of Panama with new visitors and guests from all walks of life.
